  • September 1, 2011: The CityZen project ended officially yesterday, 31 August 2011. The coordinator would like to thank all CityZen partners and other contributors for the fruitful collaboration during the last three years. We look forward to continued collaboration in the future! The final report will be available on this wiki once it has been approved by the Commission, and of course the dissemination of CityZen results will continue for a long time.
  • August 17, 2011: Results from the CityZen regarding mitigation options were presented at the Urban Air Quality and Climate Change workshop (UAQCC) in Hamburg/Germany, which was co-organized by KlimaCampus (University of Hamburg) and WMO (http://www.klimacampus.de/urban_air_quality.html)
  • June 30, 2011: The Final Meeting of CityZen was successfully accomplished on June 28-29, 2011, the project will continue until August 31, 2011, and the final report will be available by end of October. The publishable summary will be available on this website
  • May 30, 2011: The Final Meeting of CityZen will take place in Oslo on June 28-29, 2011, the agenda has been sent to all partners
  • April 4-5, 2011: Very successful session on megacities and joint meeting of MEGAPOLI & CityZen partners and collaborators at the European Geosciences Union (EGU-2011) General Assembly in Vienna, Austria
  • February 25, 2011: The 2nd Modelers's Meeting was held in Paris last week. The first draft of the meeting report has been sent to the participants (to be sent out to all modelers and the CityZen consortium soon!)
  • February 07, 2011: Thanks to all partners who have submitted abstracts to the session on megacities at the EGU General Assembly! The presentations are now being selected.
  • January 22, 2011: CityZen will end 31 August 2011. The end date has been confirmed by the European Commission. There will be no extension of the project.
  • December 17, 2010: The second CityZen Modelers' Meeting will take place in Paris on February 15/16, 2011
  • November 24, 2010: As in 2009 and 2010, a special session on megacities will be organized at the EGU General Assembly also in 2011. All CityZen partners are encouraged to submit abstracts. For more information see http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2011/session/6392
  • September 21-22, 2010: The CityZen 2nd Annual Meeting was held in Istanbul. Thanks to the local organizers, and to all partners for attending and contributing to the successful outcome of the meeting!
  • August 26, 2010: The CityZen mid-term report was approved by the European Commission. Thanks to all partners for valuable input!
  • June 16, 2010: The CityZen project and selected results were presented by Yuanhang Zhang (PKU) at a press briefing at EXPO 2010 in Shanghai
  • May 4, 2010: Joint meeting between MEGAPOLI, MILAGRO and CityZen, see https://wiki.met.no/cityzen/meet1/second_joint_meeting_vienna
  • May 3, 2010: Megacity session at EGU General Assembly, including five oral and six poster presentations from CityZen
  • April 30, 2010: WP3 mitigation meeting held in Frankfurt under the lead of Univ. Leicester
  • April 26, 2010: CityZen 1st periodic report (mid-term) sent to the European Commission
  • March 3, 2010: Total CO columns from IASI now available through the Ether data base (http://ether.ipsl.jussieu.fr)
  • February 28, 2010: The CityZen project and selected results were presented by Hermann Jakobs (FRIUUK) at the COST 728 - WMO/GURME - MEGAPOLI workshop at WMO in Geneva end of February.
  • January 18, 2010: New measurement data for the Po Valley, generated by CNR-ISAC now available on the CityZen wiki (see 'CityZen Results', password-protected), open for the CityZen consortium for model evaluation.
  • January 10, 2010: New CityZen site at http://www.cityzen-project.eu/ (Andreas Hilboll from IUP-UB is gratefully acknowledged for his help on this.)
  • December 02, 2009: CityZen partners are kindly asked to submit abstracts to the EGU 2010 session on megacities, http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2010/session/1860. Submission deadline for abstracts is Jan 18, 2010.
  • November 19, 2009: IGAC megacity assessment lead author meeting in Beijing with representatives from ECPL and met.no. Several CityZen scientists have contributed to the report planned to appear as WMO publication in 2010.
  • October 28, 2009: New measurement data for the PRD, generated by PKU now available on the CityZen wiki (see 'CityZen Results', password-protected), open for the CityZen consortium for model evaluation.
  • September 28-29, 2009: The CityZen 1st Annual Meeting was held in Laxenburg. Thanks to the local organizers at IIASA, and to all partners for attending and contributing to the successful outcome of the meeting!
  • July 27, 2009: The CityZen project was presented by Michael Gauss with focus on new results from the Eastern Mediterranean at the IAMAS/IAPSO/IACS joint assembly (MOCA 09) in Montréal, Canada.
  • June 17, 2009: The CityZen project was presented with focus on nesting options by Michael Gauss at the joint TFMM/HTAP workshop in Paris.
  • June 5, 2009: The CityZen project was presented with focus on climate/AQ co-benefits by Michael Gauss at the 13th Session of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice, in Bonn, Germany. Leading European research organisations presented innovative approaches developed within the EU RTD Framework programme “to explore synergies and trade-offs between policies and strategies to protect the quality of air we breathe and to prevent climate change.
  • May 28, 2009: (answer to question from the consortium) The CityZen logo can be downloaded in different sizes here.
  • May 21, 2009: CityZen participates in the IGAC report on megacities. Several CityZen scientists are involved as contributing authors.
  • May 12, 2009: The CityZen project was presented by Michael Gauss at the COST ES0602 meeting in Budapest. COST action ES0602 CWF models plan to collaborate with MEGAPOLI on Paris campaign in June 2009 and January 2010. CityZen partners with CWF capabilities are welcome to do so, too, with COST action ES0602 as a platform for MEGAPOLI/CityZen collaboration.
  • April 25, 2009: CityZen was well represented at the EGU General Assembly 2009 in Vienna, some presentations are uploaded to the 'Publications' page.
  • April 20, 2009: CityZen was presented by Laurence Rouil at the EGU General Assembly 2009 in Vienna.
  • April 10, 2009: CityZen was well represented at the Air Quality Conference in Istanbul, some presentations are uploaded to the 'Publications' page.
  • March 26, 2009: CityZen was presented by Michael Gauss at the Air Quality Conference in Istanbul.
  • March 18, 2009: CityZen asks for volunteers among its partners to contribute to the IGAC report on megacities, chapter 7 (ongoing research on megacities in Europe). Contact Michael Gauss or Mark Lawrence.
  • March 17, 2009: CityZen has got a new scientific officer at EC: José Jimenez Mingo.
  • January 27, 2009: Presentations from the Paris meeting are available here for CityZen partners.
  • December 2, 2008: met.no has received first funding from EC. Transfer from met.no to partners completed.
