WMO Global Cryosphere Watch
Bakgrunn
- Forvaltningsinformasjon
- GCW nettside
- GCW data portal (preoperasjonell)
Meteorologisk institutt forvalter Norges medlemskap i WMO.

Dear GCW Focal Points, Following the request from the GCOS Secretariat, I am forwarding a request inviting you to take part in the Public Review of 2015 GCOS Status Report. See the details below: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The GCOS programme was invited in November 2012 by SBSTA (the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change-UNFCCC) to undertake an updated assessment of the adequacy of the global observing systems for climate. Following this request, a draft Status Report has been prepared for submission to GCOS' sponsoring organizations and Parties to the UNFCCC. This report reviews the overall status of each Essential Climate Variable, assesses progress against the GCOS Implementation Plan and identifies gaps. It will be submitted to the 43rd session of the SBSTA, at UNFCCC`s Conference of the Parties, COP 21, to be held from 30 November to 11 December 2015, in Paris. In light of the importance of this report for all institutions and projects concerned with climate observations and the importance of messages to be conveyed to the upcoming COP, I would like to invite you, as representative of a partner organisation or as expert, to review the draft and provide comments to the GCOS Secretariat. Please feel free to distribute this draft within your organisation or project, in order to maximise the value of this consultation. Instructions and the draft are available online at the following link: *http://gcos.wmo.int <http://gcos.wmo.int>* Please, enter your comments into the spreadsheet provided under: *http://gcos.wmo.int <http://gcos.wmo.int>* I should be grateful if you would send your contribution as early as possible and at the latest by 7 September, to: *gcosreview@wmo.int * GCOS Secretariat xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
